Singlewell's Most Popular Boilers

Vaillant Boiler

Vaillant

Vaillant are one of the best known boiler makes in the UK. Vaillant are thought to be one of the best boiler makes around, winning Which? Best Buy awards on a regular basis.

Worcester Bosch

Worcester Bosch are probably the best known boiler brand in the country. If you want a top notch boiler, but still want to “buy British”, then Worcester Bosch is a great choice. Although they are some of the more expensive boilers we install.

Viessmann

Viessmann is the best boiler manufacturer you’ve never heard of. We love Viessmann at Thames Boilers because their build quality is as good as (if not better) than Vaillant and Worcester Bosch, however their prices are a little lower. This makes Viessmann great value – and Which? magazine agrees, giving Viessmann boilers several ”Best Buy” awards in recent years.

Baxi

Baxi Boilers are another well established British heating manufacturer, whose roots go back to Richard Baxendale, an iron founder, who started the Baxendale Company (now Baxi) in 1866, based in Preston in Lancashire. Today, Baxi also makes boilers under the Main and Potterton brands. We usually recommend Baxi boilers as the least disruptive replacement to some conventional boilers – and their Main boiler brand for people who want to keep costs down.

FAQ

Generally, if you‘ve got one bathroom and excellent pressure at your kitchen tap or outside tap, a combi boiler is typically the best option.
If you‘ve got over one bathroom in your home, then a conventional boiler (or perhaps a system boiler) with a hot water tank could be the most effective option.

No. For existing homes, if you need to replace your gas boiler from 2035 onwards, you will not be able to put in another gas boiler. According to current government plans, you would need to fit a Hydrogen boiler or a heat pump. However, if your gas boiler is operating in 2035, you will not need to do anything till it needs to be replaced, such as if it’s broken down and beyond repair.

It can differ widely depending on what you need.
But as a rough guide, to take your old boiler out and put a new one in the exact same location ranges from roughly ₤1800 to ₤3000.
And to strip out an old kind of gas boiler with a hot water cylinder {and} fit a combi boiler costs between roughly ₤3000 to ₤5000.
If you need other jobs carried out at the same time, such as a power flush, a new gas pipeline, or new radiators, this will certainly add to the estimated price.

If you‘ve only got 1 bathroom and excellent water pressure, then yes.
If you‘ve got more than 1 bathroom or bad water pressure, then no{, you should look at a conventional boiler or a system boiler}.

Yes. There are numerous sorts of smart thermostats that can connect to the net so you can regulate your boiler from your phone. Some brands people go with are Nest, Honeywell, Tado, and Hive.

Yes, we cover the Singlewell area as well as Cobham, Gravesend, Northfleet, Meopham, Tilbury, New Ash Green, Greenhithe, Chadwell St Mary, Swanscombe, Rochester

6 Great Reasons To Replace Your Old Boiler

1. Save Money On Your Heating Bills

Did you know that buying a new boiler can save you up to £570 a year on your gas bills? (based on replacing a G rated boiler with no controls with a new A rated boiler with a controls upgrade)

2. Stop Paying For Boiler Breakdowns

There’s a misconception that new boilers are more complex making them more liable to go wrong. With low quality boilers, that may be the case. But with good quality boilers, the opposite is true. They’re designed with minimal moving parts and all the necessary moving parts are designed to last for as long as possible.

3. More powerful showers and faster filling baths

Did you know a new boiler can give you a more powerful shower? Fitting a new combi boiler or unvented hot water cylinder gives the “power shower” experience without the expensive and noisey pump. If you would like to know if your home is suitable for these types of boilers, please get in touch on 01322 788 418.

4. No more running out of hot water

Do you find you keep running out of hot water? It can be a pain, especially in the mornings when everyone is getting ready. With a modern boiler this doesn’t happen any more. If you get a combi boiler, you could leave the hot water on all day (no that you’d want to) and never run out. This is because combi boilers heat up hot water only when they need it. Even with a conventional system, if you get a propely designed hot water cylinder, it’ll seem like your hot water lasts forever.

5. Free up space at home

It doesn’t matter whether you live in a one bedroom apartment or a 6 bedroom detached house, we all need more space. And when you upgrade your central heating, there are plenty of opportunities to create more space in your home. New boilers can be fitted out of the way in places like lofts, airing cupboards or garages. Some boilers, like combi boilers, need no tanks or hot water cylinders either, which instantly creates space in your airing cupboard and loft.

6. Never worry about switching the boiler on again.

Did you know the very latest heating controls are as easy to use as a tablet? Gone are the days of squinting at the tiny screen on the heating timer and digging out the manual just to change the heating times. These days, you can program your heating either through the simple (and free) apps that come with your new controls, or scroll through the big colour screen to easily change your settings. And the best part is, once you’ve set everything up, your new boiler and heating controls will keep your home at a perfect temperature without using any more energy than necessary.
