Like Farningham and Eynsford, Fawkham is also a village in the Sevenoaks District of Kent. It is also a civil parish with a 12th-century church dedicated to St Mary. This church is a grade 1 listed building, which means that it is a building of exceptional interest.
This tiny village has a population of 578 people and has its main settlement in Fawkham Green. South of the village runs the M20 road, giving residents easy access to London Central to the north-west and Maidstone to the south-east.
Fawkham is 12 miles from Sevenoaks and 8 miles from Dartford. Since the village is near the Sevenoaks District border with Dartford, it used to be part of the Dartford Rural District. In medieval times, the parish was part of Axstane Hundred.
To the north of Fawkham is the Church of Saint Mary, Steephill Independent School and Pre-School as well as The Old Downs. Moving south and closer to Fawkham Green is the Corinthian Sports Club, Arsenal Soccer Schools, and Kentdown Mushrooms, a produce wholesaler. Fawkham Valley Golf Course is to the west of Valley Road. Here, you?ll also find the BMI Fawkham Manor Hospital.
Places of interest in Fawkham Green include DunRunnin Rehoming Kennels, the War Memorial, and the popular Rising Sun Inn. To the south of Fawkham is the Brand Hatch Spa Leisure Centre.
Fawkham Green allows for a quiet and comfortable lifestyle in close proximity to Sevenoaks, Darenth, and the Bluewater Shopping Centre.
