Getting to Dartford — Roads and Rail

Dartford is well connected, which makes it easy for me to reach you. The A2 runs straight through the area and links directly to Greenhithe, so I’m never far away. The M25 passes just north of the town via the Dartford Crossing, and the A225 runs south through Wilmington and into the Darent Valley.

By rail, Dartford Station is served by trains to London Charing Cross, London Cannon Street, and Gravesend. If you’re in a DA1 or DA2 postcode and need someone quickly, I’m just a short drive across from the other side of the A2.

Dartford Homes and Their Heating

Dartford has a real mix of housing stock, which means a real mix of heating systems to work on — and that suits me fine.

The older streets around the town centre and Temple Hill have a lot of Victorian and Edwardian terraces with gravity-fed systems that were often converted to pressurised setups over the years. These can be prone to sludge build-up and circulation problems, so power flushing is something I end up doing quite a bit in this part of town.

Out towards Wilmington and Bean you’ll find 1930s and 1950s semis, many of which still have their original pipework. These properties often have undersized radiators and ageing system boilers that are due for replacement or upgrade.

The newer estates around Joydens Wood and towards the A2 corridor tend to have more modern combi boilers — usually Worcester Bosch or Vaillant — which are generally reliable but still need annual servicing to stay that way.

What to Expect When You Book

When you call or book online, I’ll usually ask a few quick questions about the problem — what the boiler is doing, how old it is, whether you’ve noticed any warning lights. That helps me come prepared with the parts most likely to be needed, which saves everyone time.

On the day of the visit I’ll arrive in my van, have a proper look at the system, and talk you through what I find before doing any work. No surprises, no pressure. If it’s a straightforward repair or service I’ll often get it done the same visit. If parts need ordering I’ll let you know exactly what’s needed and get booked back in as soon as they arrive.
