Serving All of Bexleyheath

I regularly cover all Bexleyheath areas including:

  • Bexleyheath Broadway — Near the Broadway Shopping Centre and Bexleyheath Station
  • Danson Park — Residential areas around the historic park
  • Upton — Off Upton Road and residential streets
  • Barnehurst — Including areas near Barnehurst Station
  • Northumberland Heath — Near Erith Road and local amenities
  • Bexley Village — The historic village area and surrounding streets
  • Welling — Residential area on the western edge of the DA6/DA16 border
  • Birkbeck Road area — Quieter residential streets south of the Broadway

Whether you’re near the Clock Tower, Broadway Shopping Centre, or anywhere in DA6, DA7, or DA5, I cover the whole area regularly.

Getting Here — Roads and Rail

Bexleyheath is on the western side of my coverage area but I’m there regularly. The A2 connects Bexleyheath to Crayford and then runs east towards Dartford and Greenhithe, so it’s a familiar route for me. The A220 runs north–south through the area, linking the Broadway to Erith and the riverside.

For rail, Bexleyheath Station is on the Southeastern line to London Cannon Street, and Barnehurst Station is just a short distance east. If you’re in DA5 around Bexley or Sidcup, you’re also easily accessible via the A223.

Bexleyheath Homes and Their Heating Systems

Bexleyheath is predominantly interwar housing — there’s a huge amount of 1930s stock across the DA6 and DA7 postcodes, from the semis around Danson Park to the terraces near the Broadway and along Upton Road. These homes often have original-era pipework that’s been patched and extended over the decades, and they can be prone to sludge build-up in the radiators.

If you’ve got some radiators heating up fine and others staying cold, that’s usually the first sign of magnetite in the system. Power flushing is something I do regularly in this part of Bexleyheath, and it makes a noticeable difference — radiators heating evenly, boiler running more efficiently, lower gas bills.

In Barnehurst and parts of Northumberland Heath, there’s more postwar housing from the 1950s and 60s, including some ex-local authority properties with older vented systems. These often have a back boiler behind the fire that was never replaced, or a system boiler that’s well past its best years.

The newer-build streets near Bexley Village and off the A2 corridor tend to have modern combis — Worcester Bosch, Ideal, or Vaillant — which generally run well with annual servicing.

What to Expect When You Book

When you get in touch I’ll ask a few questions about the problem over the phone so I can come prepared. I stock a good range of common parts in the van, which means many repairs can be completed on the first visit without a trip to the merchant. I’ll arrive at the agreed time, explain what I find before doing anything, and won’t start work until you’re happy with the quote. Most jobs are done in a single visit. If I need to order something in, I’ll get you back in the diary without delay.
